The Cascina dei Prati condominium, built in the late 70s in the northern area of Milan, is a residential complex with an open courtyard that houses about 100 residential units on an area of over 7,000 m². The intervention represented a significant challenge: to redevelop the building energetically and seismically, maintaining its architectural identity and at the same time improving the quality of living.
Redevelopment interventions
- Energy requalification with ventilated façade and thermal insulation, for high-performance insulation
- Seismic improvement with steel frame structure integrated into the beam-column nodes, capable of optimizing the distribution of loads and ensuring resistance to stress
- New balconies integrated into the structure, which expand the living spaces and enhance the facades
- Redevelopment of outdoor spaces with reappropriation of green areas and insertion of solar shading elements
Plants and sustainability
- Transition to an all-electric system
- Heat pumps and Hydrokits for heating, cooling and domestic hot water production
- Photovoltaic system with configuration to support the most energy-intensive consumption
Thanks to this integrated intervention, the condominium has reached energy class A4, with a significant leap in terms of efficiency and living comfort.
