Description of the current state of affairs
The residential complex in Viale Bligny 42, historically known as Casa Mazzucchelli, is a late nineteenth-century building located close to the circle of the Spanish walls of Milan.
Originally born as a residential building with warehouses on the ground floor, today it has 256 real estate units distributed over six floors above ground and a basement.
The building, characterized by load-bearing masonry and a wooden roof with a tile mantle, had obsolete systems and a poorly performing envelope.
Redevelopment interventions
MIR Solution's project has combined energy requalification, plant adaptation and seismic improvement, with the aim of restoring efficiency and safety to a historical heritage of great value.
Main interventions
- Ventilated façade in rock wool and porcelain stoneware, for advanced insulation and an important aesthetic upgrade
- Cladding system in correspondence with balconies, with phenolic resin insulating panels
- Insulation of corridors and stairwells with high-performance panels and fireproof glass wool ceilings
- Replacement of windows and doors with wooden and triple low-emission glass frames, equipped with automated roller shutters
- 20 kWp photovoltaic system with storage batteries for a total of 48 kWh
- New centralized heating system with VRF technology, remote metering and DHW production for each unit
- Seismic improvement with reinforcement of the masonry by means of anti-tilt mesh and structural consolidation
- Redevelopment of the roof, with insulation and reinforcements for greater safety and efficiency
Expected results
Thanks to this integrated intervention, the building makes a leap from energy class G to class A1, with a significant reduction in consumption, greater living comfort and better anti-seismic safety, while preserving the historical and architectural value of the complex.
